Success Depends on You Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Success Depends on You Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone

“Nobody ever died of discomfort, yet living in the name of comfort has killed more ideas, more opportunities, more actions, and more growth than everything else combined. Comfort kills!” — T. Harv Eker

Everything You’ve Ever Wanted is One Step Outside Your Comfort Zone. You have hesitated for far too long. It is time you step out of that safe zone! The reward and the lessons learned will be, without question, worth the risk. No one likes to move beyond his or her comfort zone, but that’s where the magic happens. Outside of that comfortable little zone is where you can grow, learn, and develop in a way that expands your horizon beyond your wildest dream. Everything remarkable happens beyond the safe zone. By pushing yourself into new areas you will have a chance to authentically define who you are, and break free of the limitations of what others think you should be. This is where you need to be to grow.

Growth outside your comfort zone can mean confidence in other areas of your life. One of the greatest benefits of stepping out of your comfort zones in areas like speaking at events or stepping up your exercise routine is that growth or progress in your current endeavor can give you a massive amount of confidence in almost every other area of your life. This is a good reason why you should have many areas where you stretch yourself.

“Your comfort zone keeps you in a very predictable space” — Marla Tabaka

So the trick here is to let go of your expectations and accept the results of your actions. Take risks in measured amounts if you fear life outside the circle of comfort. If you are rolling out a new product, do it in small bits. Don’t go gangbusters and risk losing it all. Gamble with something you are willing to lose. These losses will teach you something, such as how to make the product better or market it differently. Look forward to the outcome, whatever it is. Celebrate small wins and move on to the next step. Keep yourself motivated!

Too many of us are still playing it safe in our choices every day. If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten if you don’t do something significant, you will not be able to change at all.

5 positive results from stepping out of your comfort zone:

You will let perfection go.

Nobody is perfect – don’t expect it and don’t long for it.  Let go of that unnecessary pressure. As soon as you accept this you will find that you will lose the hesitation that has held you back in the past.

You will inspire others.

Whether you realize it or not, people are watching you. What you do gives them an inspiring role model for growth and change. We all have a teacher or someone in our lives who unknowingly inspired and motivated us to do more than we thought we could.  Taking risks and believing in yourself allows you to be that person for others.

You will have no regrets at the end.

Regrets come when we wonder, “What if?” yet don’t act. Don’t wonder – take the plunge.

You will gain control.

When you step out on your own path, you get to live and work on your own terms. Take control and become the one who sets the rules and initiates change. Having a sense of personal control is not only essential for well-being, but it lowers stress and increases job satisfaction as well.

Your life experience will be fuller.

Those of us who’ve been forced to change understand that what is comforting is often not what is best for you. Leaving your comfort zone can create a tremendous feeling of self-respect as you learn what you are truly capable of doing and creating. You will find it far greater and more expansive than you dreamed.

Don’t be afraid to try something new in any aspect of your life. You will find you are more resilient, capable and courageous than you ever believed. As you rise to these challenges, more exciting ones are waiting in the wings for you.
